Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we most often receive about Wildpath Journal.
Is Wildpath Journal a commercial site?
No. We are an independent editorial site with no paid ads, no affiliate links and no sponsored posts. Reviews reflect the honest opinions of the writer at the time of publication.
Where do you get your images?
Article images are either photographed by our contributors on assignment or licensed under permissive terms from third-party photo services. When a photographer is credited, credit appears on the image caption.
Can I republish your articles?
Not without written permission. All content is copyrighted. You are welcome to quote short passages with attribution and a link back to the original article.
Do you recommend specific products?
Our reviews describe products we have actually used on real trips. We try to be specific about the conditions we tested in and the trade-offs involved. We do not maintain 'best of' lists that rank products against each other outside a specific tested context.
How current are your trail and regulation notes?
We publish with the best information available on the publication date. Land manager rules — fire restrictions, permit systems, campground reservations — change often. Always re-check with the responsible agency before any trip.
How can I suggest a campground or route to cover?
Send us an email via the contact page. Include the name, region, why you think it deserves coverage, and any links to official information.
Do you write in languages other than English?
No. All content is published in English only.
